Drove the scenic route to work. Pulled a sharp right instinctively knowing I would get the views of white mist over green fields. Noticed (not for the first time) how beautiful the church spire in Llanila is - with pretty wind vein. I love Wales with its postcard views. The drive was enhanced by my precious iPod classic (on shuffle)volume up full...The XX, Ed Sheeren, Morcheeba...
In stark contrast the journey home was pitch black.
Today my mind wandered to home and designing pretty websites for Happy Go Digital. Got a few on the go and loving it...losing yourself in a mockup is hard to top. Nothing else exists for that time you are designing. It's probably the equivalent of valium without the side effects. Today I took some more steps towards learning Word Press. Finding the time will be hard. But now have lessons booked with my pal Clive who is a super dooper webbie, much better than me.
It feels empowering making moves towards being more in control of your business and your money, as if life has more possibilities. It feels more honest somehow living within the limitations of a budget - nothing wrong with spending if you want tho - I'm not some sort of purist. The less I am spending, the more I am learning and working on my business, and, the happier I feel.
Not yet made a travelling bucket list. So far I have been to 10 European countries. Contenders:
- Italy (help their economy now that Silvia Belasconi has effed it up so monumentally - has art, food and landscapes)
- Greek islands (looks lovely - only been to mainland and crete, again helping the economy so feel good factor, plus so many islands it would be hard to get bored, plus octapus is a staple of the greek diet)
- Sri Lanka (perhaps to get married, although my mate pinched this idea from me - technically this is not copying)
- Indonesian islands (maybe to get a bamboo tattoo on my foot of a flower or something and see the most perfect beaches in the world)
- St Helena (where my dad is from and where I have rights to purchase a cheap farm whilst visiting my roots lol)
- Ireland (mini trip for 2012 - only on calm sea day)
- America (lots of places to visit - Yellowstone and route 66)
- Australia (long way but just looks awesome despite poisonous creatures galore)
- Japan (those crazy japs cannot be left out)
- Africa (kenya but worried about kidnappings)
New retail therapy coping strategies are now in place...selling things on E Bay is a similar buzz to buying things. Job's a goodun. Sold some software and an apple mouse only yesterday and transferred the cash from pay pal into my bank today.
Child 1 is happy. Has his new MW3 game. He came out of his darkened room to eat his pasta and garlic bread and retreated again into battle mode.
My cat is getting addicted to eating Iams. Am a bit worried- she looks like she has swallowed a brick!
Lost 2 pounds hurray. Now 9.7. Only 8 pounds to go.
Looking forward to some time with chef in London, the Social Media training in London should be interesting too. Perk of job. Also looking forward to the farm roast on Sunday, cooked by none other than the talented chef who owns Holdens Catering...
