Waning and only Tuesday

Today I noticed how warm it is for November. There was no need for a cardigan at work today.  I found that today I enjoyed listening to my iPod much more than Radio Cymru - where trying to strain to understand Gog Welsh (North Walian) and catching the gist of things but not the true meaning is the general way.  Today I also watched 'Lake House' with Sandra Bullock.  It has made Tom retreat to his office.  The TV signal is down.  So it's a rubbish Rom Com instead.  I find men generally hate Rom Coms.  Having the TV off when feeling this uninspired is just not an option.  Is that bad?
Some more info about me...

I call myself Welsh girl in this blog.  Not entirely accurate.  Am a bit of English, Welsh with some African volcanic island chucked in.  This has resulted in near affro hair which I painstakingly straighten at salons and with straighteners when the roots grow through. But I've lived in Wales most of my life now - since I was 11, so that's 28 years.  That counts as Welsh in my books.  Plus my teenage son is in the Welsh stream at school.  Plus I am learning Welsh and have GCSE Welsh (second language).  Plus my nan was Welsh - born and bred.  4 plusses counts for a lot I reckon. I'm engaged to a chef.  They work very hard.  My one has his own business - www.holdenscatering,com.  He cooks with ingredients I have never heard of and that makes me proud. There are 3 kids to speak of between chef and I.  Two 14 year old lads and a girl of 11.  Child 1 I will refer to as Cizbo lives with us...he's quite Kevin and Perry right now, but I think he is lovely and I love him very much (even if he is a big grump).

Comedy moment of the day

My Hong Kong friend Cat wrote in her email about the Sunday roast at Treberfydd Farm "Remember your willies".  This was of course hilarious.  she didn't think so when I sent a laughing email back and spoilt it by saying her hand had slipped on the keyboard and other grumpy replies...perhaps I shouldn't poke fun at my foreign friends grasp of the English language in future, especially ones who can't laugh at their own funniness.

Poignant (or not) observations of the day
  • People notice when you wear a hairband.  I had comments from 'you look like a gyspy today' (compliment I think) to "hair's nice in the hairband"  - of course only women notice these things.
  • Don't eat Magnum's with an upset tum.  They make it worse.
  • Teenage son was really angry when his Modern Warfare game which (preordered from Play.com) didn't arrive today.  He took to shouting at me and taunting the words "Don't you feel bad that you paid an extra £2 when you  preordered it from Play.com and they didn't get it to you any earlier than the shops."  Hardly a blow to me no I thought.
Work moments worth noting

Noticed that you eat much less when you are very busy.  Perhaps I will lose some weight soon.
Nearly all our team is leaving before xmas..weird.
Possible work merge hit home today when deciding whether to apply for one of the posts helping to set up new departments.

Happy-o-meter

5/10 due to bad tum and grumpiness between chef and I.

Personal goals worth mentioning

learning Word Press - meeting Clive tomorrow to discuss this with him.
